 Every July 18th, I have the honor of organizing the YALI Learn Event to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy and make a positive impact on the world. Supported by the Department of State in Washington, DC, this initiative is a continuation of my journey after completing the YALI program in Accra, Ghana. This year’s event was a remarkable success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of YALI-RLC alumni volunteers across Nigeria. These dedicated volunteers coordinated the event in their respective locations, using a provided template and later submitting detailed event reports for compilation. In Abuja, I worked closely with the American Corner staff to plan all activities, including securing the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, who delivered an inspiring opening remark.
